Wax tarts have become a popular form of home fragrance product. They are simply pieces of colored, scented wax that are melted to release the aroma, like candles without wicks. The scent is released as the wax is melted and then kept warm over a heat source such as a light bulb or a tealight candle. Gift shops are filled with decorative tart warmers (sometimes called tart burners) of all designs and descriptions. All of these involve some sort of "bowl" or melting chamber above the heat source. (They are much like fragrance oil warmers, although usually larger, since wax tarts usually create a larger pool of wax then the amount of fragrance oil used in oil warmers.) Some tart warmers simply have a lower chamber that accommodates tealight candles which heat up and melt the tart. Other tart warmers are electric, typically with a night light bulb concealed beneath the "bowl." These are a wonderful way to scent your home without having an open flame. Our wax tarts are made, like all of our candles, of premium soy wax in a variety of popular scents and colors. We pour them into 6-chamber plastic "clamshells," so that you can pop out and use one segment at a time, much like breaking off a section of a Hershey chocolate bar. Each segment lasts for 12 hours or more, and can be cooled and reheated numerous times. You might even combine segments of different scents in your warmer to come up with your own personal favorite scent combinations!
