Soy candles are gaining popularity for a number of reasons. Soy wax is biodegradable, water soluble, non-toxic, and slow-burning. Paraffin wax, on the other hand, is a petroleum by-product, which emits eleven known toxins when burning. Paraffin is a non-renewable resource, supplied largely by foreign oil. Soy oil is produced by American farms. Our soy candle wicks are made of pure cotton and paper, and contain NO lead or zinc. These candles are safe for humans and pets, including birds, whose respiratory systems are notoriously sensitive. Burn time is approximately 40 hours or more if wick is kept trimmed properly. Besides being safe to use, they also smell terrific. We know that people burn candles because they want to smell them, so we put double the industry standard for fragrance to wax ratio.
